Sony’s Soneium Integrates LINE Mini-Apps in Web3 Push

Sony’s public blockchain platform Soneium is teaming up with messaging giant LINE to integrate LINE’s mini-apps into its ecosystem, with four mini-games set to go on-chain in the coming months.

The companies announced today that the partnership aims to enhance user experience while providing LINE mini-app developers with community-building support, strategic marketing, and IP collaboration through Soneium.

“LINE has built a strong presence, and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is the next step toward making Soneium more accessible,” said Jun Watanabe, chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, which develops Soneium.

Four Mini-Games Coming to Soneium

The collaboration will begin with the launch of four LINE-powered mini-games on Soneium:

🎮 Sleepagotchi LITE
🎮 Farm Frens
🎮 Moonveil: Puffy Match
🎮 Pocket Mob

These games will introduce LINE’s existing user base to blockchain gaming while expanding Soneium’s reach into the Japanese, Taiwanese, and Thai markets, where LINE dominates as a messaging platform.

LINE’s Growing Web3 Presence

LINE has been actively expanding into Web3, launching a decentralized app (dApp) portal in January 2025, powered by Kaia, which allows users to access Web3 services directly through LINE Messenger.

Meanwhile, Sony Block Solutions Labs, Sony’s Singapore-based blockchain subsidiary, launched Soneium’s Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet in January, further positioning the company in the blockchain gaming and dApp space.

With LINE’s integration, Soneium is making a major move to bridge traditional mobile applications with blockchain technology, signaling Sony’s growing investment in Web3 innovation.
