Celebrating Financial Freedom: Adopting Bitcoin Conference 2023 Takes Center Stage in San Salvador

In a landmark move in 2021, El Salvador became the first country to make Bitcoin legal tender, opening doors to financial innovation and inclusion not just for itself but for countries around the globe. Building upon that transformative moment, the Adopting Bitcoin conference, hosted by Galoy, has been championing Bitcoin adoption, and this year, it’s gearing up to do so in a bigger way than ever before.

Unprecedented Collaboration: Bitcoin Month

The conference organizers announced a unique collaboration with the LA-based Pacific Bitcoin conference organized by Swan Bitcoin. Together, these entities will launch Bitcoin Month, a month-long series of events starting with Pacific Bitcoin in Los Angeles, USA, and culminating in Adopting Bitcoin 2023. This ambitious undertaking aims to bring the global Bitcoin community together for an extended period of celebration, education, and networking.

From Humble Beginnings to a Global Spotlight

El Salvador, once known for its small beach town of El Zonte, is now a global symbol of financial innovation. It provides an insightful case study into the tangible benefits of adopting a decentralized, borderless currency and offers inspiration to other countries considering a similar path.

More than Just a Conference

This year’s Adopting Bitcoin conference will take place from November 7–9, 2023, in San Salvador, El Salvador. Attendees can look forward to two main tracks: ECON for non-technical discussions and DEV for technical ones, with simultaneous translation into Spanish. The conference goes beyond these tracks by offering various workshops, breakout sessions, and a Hackspace for the builders and innovators in the crypto space.

Open Calls and Sponsorship Opportunities

The Adopting Bitcoin team is also open to applications from speakers who wish to share their knowledge and expertise. The focus will strictly be on Bitcoin, ensuring that the core message of Bitcoin’s potential is not diluted. Moreover, sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations looking to align themselves with this cutting-edge event.

Commitment to Education and Local Initiatives

This conference isn’t just about the Bitcoin community; it’s about wider community development. Adopting Bitcoin is a non-profit event, and the profits will be used to support local educational initiatives. Last year’s profits went to Mi Primer Bitcoin, which educates local communities about Bitcoin and its potential. All ticket payments will only be accepted in Bitcoin, either on-chain or via Lightning payments. The cost of attendance is exceptionally affordable for Salvadorans at $21, making the event accessible to the very community that stands to gain the most from Bitcoin adoption.

Tickets and Profits

Regular ticket prices for non-Salvadorans start at $150, and prices will increase by $50 monthly as the event date approaches. Supporters have the option to pay more to help offset the cost of discounted tickets. All profits will be directed towards local education about Bitcoin.

Adopting Bitcoin 2023 is not just a conference; it’s a catalyst for change. It aims to educate, inspire, and bring people together in a way that can shape the future of money and, by extension, the future of how we live our lives. So mark your calendars and be a part of this monumental event.
