Upland’s Innovative Airdrop Fuels Web3 Engagement

Upland, a pioneering crypto game that intricately maps the digital world to real-world locations, announced on Friday the launch of its “Share and Build” airdrop series. This series represents a strategic effort to galvanize the community and welcome newcomers as Upland gears up for the integration of its Ethereum token.

At the heart of this initiative is the distribution of Sparklet tokens, Upland’s native in-game utility token. These tokens are essential for constructing buildings and generating content within the Upland ecosystem. The first chapter of this airdrop series is uniquely designed to reward users for their engagement on social media platforms, specifically Twitter (now referred to as X), and through various in-app missions spanning three weeks.

Participants can amplify their engagement by connecting their Twitter accounts, thereby earning points through interactions with Upland and Sparklet content. These points will subsequently be converted into Sparklet tokens, enriching the in-game experience for users.

This Twitter-focused airdrop campaign draws inspiration from similar strategies employed in the promotion of the Portal and BlockGames tokens, emphasizing the power of social media in fostering community engagement and token distribution.

In a significant development last November, Upland, which is built on the EOS blockchain, announced plans to introduce an Ethereum token tied to its in-game Sparklet token. This announcement followed the release of a whitepaper detailing Upland’s vision, which was overwhelmingly supported by the community, with 87% voting in favour of the proposal.

Following the airdrop, Upland will initiate a Token Tradability Event (TTE), enabling players to convert their in-game Sparklet currency into a tradeable Ethereum token. This move marks a pivotal moment in Upland’s journey, bridging the gap between in-game utility and real-world value.

“We’re excited to launch the ‘Share and Build’ airdrop series as we are getting ready for the Sparklet event. This initiative aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering a thriving Web3 ecosystem and rewarding passionate players,” stated Dirk Lueth, co-founder and co-CEO of Upland. This sentiment underscores the company’s commitment to building a vibrant and interactive Web3 community.

The airdrop campaign is structured around ten distinct reward levels, with a user’s engagement on Twitter and other social metrics determining their potential earnings. Additionally, strategic partnerships with select Upland affiliates will offer users “point boosts”, further enhancing their ability to earn rewards.

Moreover, each chapter of the airdrop series rewards participants with a unique Block Explorer NFT, a critical game piece within the Upland metaverse. Accumulating five such rewards unlocks an exclusive NFT, adding another layer of excitement and incentive for participants.

Since its inception in 2019 as a property-trading game, Upland has evolved into a comprehensive metaverse experience, incorporating vehicles, events, and various gameplay enhancements. This expansion was bolstered by a $7 million Series A extension round last November, paving the way for Upland’s continued growth and innovation.

This initiative not only enhances the gaming experience for existing users but also opens doors for new participants to explore the metaverse. As Upland continues to evolve, its commitment to innovation and community engagement sets a precedent for the future of digital entertainment and blockchain integration.
