Kickstart your adventure by downloading the Fren Pet mobile app available at frenpet.xyz. Not just a mere game, the app goes a step further. It introduces you to the world of cryptocurrency by creating a dedicated crypto wallet. The help docs can be found here. We would fully advise reading the “Welcome to fren pet” section of this before starting. If you are A 100% plug ‘n’ play gamer then please send some ETH on Base Chain to the address shown in the App. Just click “Rewards” on the bottom, then “Account” at the top and you will see the following screen. Copy the address where it says “Deposit Eth” and send some ETH. The click omn swap and trade back and forth as required to get $FPS to Mint. 0.1 ETH (at time of writing – 1 week has been more than enough to mint and buy enough $FPS to last a good while).

Minting a Fren Pet is a unique experience, crafted innovatively within the app. Instead of a fixed price, the minting cost is set through a dynamic Dutch auction system.

Here’s how it unfolds:

• The auction kickstarts with a price tag of 2000 $FP.
• As the sands of time flow, the price gently descends over a span of 10 minutes, finding its floor at 100 $FP by the end.

Gaming enthusiasts can jump into the fray and mint a pet at any juncture during the auction. And the excitement doesn’t end here; with each minting, a new Dutch auction springs to life.This system ensures a transparent and ever-evolving market rate for the pets, reflecting their true value, ensuring both buyer satisfaction and game integrity.

Your Pet’s Lifeline: Time Of Death (TOD):

The core of the game is a ticking clock: the “Time Of Death” or TOD. It’s a grim reminder and a unique game mechanic. If neglected, the TOD indicates the moment your FrenPet will meet its unfortunate demise. In FrenPet, death isn’t just a pause or a reset – it’s final. If your pet perishes, the corresponding NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is burned, rendering it lost forever along with any accrued rewards. Beware though! TOD clocks do not stack up, ergo your pet will only have as long as the time supplied by its last meal. If in doubt ,double check the “Activities” log. There is even a “My Activities” that filters out all the other players actions. The most recent actions are at the top.

On your pet’s dedicated page, an array of tantalizing food options awaits, each bearing its own score. These scores are crucial, influencing your pet’s health and longevity. Every morsel, every tidbit you choose, can either extend or reduce your pet’s lifespan. These choices aren’t just about survival; they’re strategic decisions that determine your ranking in the game’s leaderboard. If you want to gorge yourself to the top of the leader board you can consume a load of beer, but beware, beers empty calories only sustain you for a short time. Or you could chill out and eat a healthy apple and take a shower every few days. Each to their own.

Currency of Care: $FP Tokens

The love and care you shower upon your pet comes at a price – $FP Tokens. This in-game currency lets you purchase the vital sustenance your pet needs. Every bite counts, every meal matters, and it’s up to you to decide how much you’re willing to invest in your pet’s well-being.

The Fren Pet Leaderboard: A Competitive Arena:

The Thrill of the “Bonk Bonk Bonk” Challenge:

Amidst the caring and the feeding, there’s an element of  competition in the form of the “Bonk Bonk Bonk” challenge. Every 15 minutes, players are presented with an exhilarating opportunity: the chance to bonk a pet positioned higher on the leaderboard. But there’s a catch! Only those pets that have remained unbeckoned for the past hour are eligible targets.

If you find the arena devoid of potential adversaries, it simply means that all eligible pets have been recently bonked.

The challenge is designed to be a thrilling gamble:

• As the challenger, your odds stand at 40%.
• The higher-ranked opponent, being on a more dominant tier, naturally enjoys a 60% success rate.

But what’s a challenge without rewards? In the exhilarating dance of bonk, the victor walks away with a prize of 0.5% of the loser’s score. It’s a game of risk, reward, and strategy, testing both your nerve and your pet’s mettle.

Further Developments & More Fun to Come:

The devs have set the community up for quite a ride. V2 being imminent, with this there will be an accessories mall, where you can customize your fur child, as well as some adjustment to the tokenomics of $FPS.  This will  include the addition of a referral link that will gain the issuer with 100 $FPS upon new users using the link. If no referral link is used the $FPS will be distributed to the community using the current model. Join the Telegram group  and follow the X community, to stay up to date.
