Parallel’s Planetfall: A New Horizon in NFT Gaming

Parallel Studios is set to revolutionize the NFT gaming world with the launch of its first expansion, Planetfall, introducing over 120 new NFT cards to its sci-fi trading card game. These cards will be available for purchase in blind packs, allowing players to trade them even before their official game debut.

Players are presented with three distinct card bundle options: the Player Pack priced at 0.018 ETH (approximately $32), the Collector’s Pack at 0.18 ETH ($320), and the Collector’s Crate, a comprehensive package of 10 Collector’s Packs (100 cards) plus additional perks, priced at 1.6 ETH ($2,848). Each of the Player and Collector’s Packs contains 10 cards.

In the Parallel universe, players align themselves with one of five factions, curate their card decks, select a “Paragon” or main character card, and engage in intense 1v1 battles, aiming to reduce their opponent’s health points to zero.

The Planetfall Collectors Drop is scheduled for October 28th, 2023, at 3 PM EST, with a total of 18,646 packs available. A significant portion of these will be reserved for collectors.

The contents of the card packs remain a mystery until opened, but the Collector’s Pack and Collector’s Crate guarantee the inclusion of “rare” cards, whereas the Player Pack offers a mix of common, uncommon, and rare cards.

The presale for early adopters kicks off on October 25, followed by a wider presale starting October 28. However, the new cards will not be integrated into the game until Q1 or Q2 of 2024.

Differing from previous releases, the Planetfall NFT sets will reside on the Ethereum mainnet, resulting in higher transaction fees for players but eliminating the need to bridge crypto to the Base network.

Parallel is also set to release a new game patch next week, introducing a battle pass, new cosmetic skins, and additional game options, including emotes and field backs. The patch also brings a new in-game store and quality-of-life improvements to the game’s visual layout, ensuring the automatic inclusion of players’ rarest cards in their decks.

Since its beta launch in July, Parallel has introduced over 1,200 NFT types, totaling nearly 6 million assets. Since March 2021, the game has witnessed almost 78,000 ETH in total volume traded, equivalent to roughly $237 million.

Parallel continues to enrich the NFT gaming experience, blending the thrill of trading card games with the innovative world of blockchain technology.
