Namada’s Airdrop Program: Rewarding Pioneers in Privacy and Tech Innovation

Anoma Foundation’s Namada, a forefront protocol in asset-agnostic, multichain privacy solutions, has launched an ambitious airdrop program. The Retroactive Public Goods Funding (RPGF) airdrop, unveiled this Wednesday, is designed to recognize and reward the early contributors to Namada’s groundbreaking privacy network.

Gratitude with 6.5% Token Supply

The RPGF airdrop program is set to distribute 65 million $NAM tokens, accounting for 6.5% of the total supply, as a token of gratitude to its community. This initiative is significant for those who have played a crucial role in developing and enhancing Namada’s privacy and zero-knowledge technology, interchains, and more. The $NAM token serves multiple functions within the Namada network, including staking, decentralized governance participation, and fee payment.

Eligibility and Claiming Process

Eligible participants, who have until December 28, 2024, to claim their tokens, can submit their Genesis Namada account details on the dedicated website rpgfdrop.namada.net. The airdrop targets a diverse group, including open-source contributors, researchers, developers, Gitcoin donors, and participants in the Trusted Setup among others.

Christopher Goes, co-founder of Namada, has commended the contributors for enhancing the concept of public goods. He emphasized that the RPGF airdrop is part of Namada’s commitment to appreciating and materially compensating these innovators. This airdrop reflects Namada’s philosophy of acknowledging the foundational public goods and giving back to the creators and supporters.

The RPGF airdrop is set to reach a wide array of beneficiaries. This includes over 7,000 researchers and developers, nearly 192,000 on-chain accounts and Bad Kids NFT holders, and over 2,500 contributors in the Trusted Setup. The diverse eligibility criteria encompass contributions to the Zcash and Rust ecosystems, privacy technology, and more.

The RPGF Drop has specific criteria for eligibility, considering contributions on various platforms and forums. Developers require a minimum number of commits on specified GitHub repositories, with more active contributors receiving a larger share. Similarly, researchers and learners active on etheresear.ch forum are also eligible. This inclusion criterion ensures a fair and comprehensive recognition of efforts across the blockchain and tech community.

Namada’s RPGF Drop also includes allocations for those contributing to alternative public goods funding mechanisms, Gitcoin donors, and participants in the Namada Trusted Setup. Furthermore, the shielded community and BadKid NFT holders are also part of this rewarding initiative, emphasizing the protocol’s inclusive approach.

Namada’s RPGF airdrop program stands as a significant gesture in the crypto and blockchain industry, recognizing the invaluable contributions of individuals and groups in advancing privacy and decentralized technology. This program not only acknowledges these efforts but also motivates further innovation and participation in the ever-evolving blockchain landscape.
