China Mobile Hong Kong Launches LinkNFT Marketplace

China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK), a major player in Hong Kong’s mobile communication sector, is set to revolutionize the digital asset space with the launch of LinkNFT, Hong Kong’s first telecom-operated NFT marketplace. This move represents a significant leap in the integration of NFT technology with mainstream mobile applications, showcasing CMHK’s innovative approach to digital transformation.

A New Era of Digital Asset Trading

LinkNFT emerges at a pivotal moment, coinciding with the success of CMHK’s comprehensive smart living mobile application, MyLink, which has garnered over seven million users. With the introduction of LinkNFT, CMHK is expanding its digital horizons by offering NFT minting services, particularly targeting businesses. The marketplace aims to facilitate the creation, trade, and circulation of digital assets across diverse scenarios like SocialFi, DeFi, and GameFi.

One of the standout features of LinkNFT is its use of advanced cross-chain standards. These include the web3 Center cross-chain service protocol, cross-chain adapter, and cross-chain smart contract, all of which are designed to ensure seamless web3 interoperability. This technological advancement makes it easier for Hong Kong residents to access their digital assets, including Ethereum-based platforms like Opensea, via MyLink’s exclusive digital wallet, LinKey.

CMHK’s LinkNFT is not just a marketplace; it’s a platform for collaboration and innovation. The company has already partnered with various sectors to release over 30 NFTs. These include 20 commemorative editions from the MyLink ArLink series and 15 NFTs associated with publishers and music platforms like Migu Music. The ambition of this venture is evident in the expected issuance of over 500,000 NFTs.

The MyLink application is also undergoing a significant upgrade, transforming into a comprehensive 3D immersive experience. This upgrade will allow Hong Kong citizens to create digital homes and explore a virtual Hong Kong city, complete with shopping malls and exhibition halls. Moreover, this digital space enables citizens to convert their Meta IDs into NFTs, fostering a unique digital community within the web3 ecosystem.

Mr. Tan Hui, Executive Director of MyLink, envisions this new venture as a means for enterprises to offer novel consumer rights through various NFTs. This approach not only benefits businesses but also provides users with collectible and circulation value, adding a new dimension to the concept of digital ownership and community engagement.

China Mobile Hong Kong’s foray into the NFT marketplace with LinkNFT is a bold step towards bridging traditional telecommunications with the digital future. It represents an exciting development in the world of NFTs and digital asset trading, promising to offer innovative solutions and opportunities for both businesses and consumers in Hong Kong and beyond.
