Puffverse Shifts to Ronin with New Game and Funding

Puffverse, a prominent gaming initiative utilizing NFT characters on Binance’s BNB Chain, is making a significant transition to the Ethereum-based Ronin network. This move coincides with the announcement of their upcoming play-to-earn party game, PuffGo, which aims to merge traditional gaming fun with blockchain technology’s rewards.

In conjunction with this strategic migration, Puffverse has successfully secured a $3 million funding round. This investment is spearheaded by the metaverse powerhouse, Animoca Brands, and includes contributions from notable entities such as Ronin creator Sky Mavis, Arcane Group, Spartan Group, Foresight Ventures, HashKey Capital, and Xu Family Office. These funds are earmarked for the development of PuffGo and the establishment of a cloud gaming platform designed to facilitate the creation of personalized metaverse experiences.

PuffGo is set to be the flagship launch on Ronin and draws inspiration from the popular Web2 game Fall Guys, integrating play-to-earn elements to enhance player engagement and investment. Puffverse co-founder and COO Lya L emphasized the strategic nature of this shift to Ronin, aiming to make their vibrant 3D universe more accessible to a broader audience, spanning both Web2 and Web3 platforms.

The game will allow players to not only enjoy competitive multiplayer experiences but also engage in user-generated content creation. Additionally, forthcoming AI tools will enable players to design game maps and metaverse environments through simple text commands, further democratizing the game development process.

As part of the transition, Puffverse plans to take a snapshot of NFT holders on the BNB Chain on April 29, followed by an airdrop of the Ronin versions of these assets into user wallets. This year will also see the launch of a PUFF token on Ronin and the introduction of a new NFT collection, marking a new chapter in the Puffverse ecosystem.

This strategic pivot not only underscores the evolving dynamics within the blockchain gaming sector but also highlights the growing trend of integrating traditional gaming elements with innovative blockchain solutions.
