Scatter’s COO Haiku Steps Down

On New Year’s Day, Haiku, the pseudonymous COO of Scatter, announced their resignation from the Milady-themed NFT launchpad and marketplace. In a reflective X post, Haiku declared their work at Scatter complete, saying: “My work is done.”

Haiku emphasized Scatter’s transformation into a sustainable, artist-first platform as a key achievement. The platform, which supports NFT minting and trading across multiple blockchains such as Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Blast, has been instrumental in expanding the reach of Milady-inspired collections.

A Journey of Triumph and Challenges

Since naming Scatter in November 2021, Haiku played a pivotal role in its evolution—from advisor to executive. Reflecting on their journey, Haiku highlighted the satisfaction of empowering artists and challenging “cringe culture” with authentic art.

“Scatter has been the launchpad for many of the most significant collections in the last few years,” Haiku noted. “It was never about anything else to me but ensuring artists had their place.”

Haiku revealed they had refused a salary over the last few years to prioritize the platform’s growth, underscoring their commitment to Scatter’s mission of empowering artists and safeguarding blockchain freedom.

Leadership Transition: Three Steps Up

Stepping into the role of COO is Three, a long-standing contributor to Scatter. Praised by Haiku as a “brilliant designer and born leader,” Three has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and performance under pressure.

Under Three’s guidance, Scatter is expected to maintain its commitment to supporting artists and fostering the growth of web3 creativity.

What’s Next for Haiku?

Haiku has shifted their focus entirely to Oekaki Connect, an art collective fostering collaboration among digital artists, particularly in the NFT space. The collective has been behind notable projects like Kemonokaki and aims to expand its influence within web3.

“Because we have the freedom to say and make what we want, we must,” Haiku emphasized, reaffirming their commitment to artist empowerment and blockchain integrity.

Haiku’s departure marks the end of an era for Scatter but also the beginning of a new chapter under Three’s leadership. Scatter’s growth from a niche NFT platform to a sustainable, artist-first entity is a testament to Haiku’s vision and dedication. As the NFT space continues to evolve, Scatter and Oekaki Connect are poised to remain pivotal players in the digital art and web3 ecosystem.
