Pixelverse, the creator of the widely popular Telegram game PixelTap, announced on Thursday that it has officially launched a closed beta for its browser-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). This new game signals a major step for Pixelverse as it expands beyond its Telegram roots and into a broader gaming ecosystem.
A New Cyberpunk World
While this new Pixelverse game is not tied to the Telegram platform. It retains strong ties to the TON blockchain (The Open Network), enabling microtransactions for the first time outside of Telegram’s environment. This integration ensures that existing PixelTap players can easily transition over to the new MMORPG without friction.
Set 800 years in the future, the cyberpunk-themed game allows players to explore Neopolis City, complete quests, and take part in an open economy. The game is designed to be far more immersive than PixelTap. Which was centered around simple tap-based mobile battles on Telegram and attracted millions of players.
Closed Beta and Future Release
Currently available to early supporters in a closed beta. Pixelverse plans to open the game to the public in the fourth quarter of this year. Early feedback will help shape the final version, giving the development team insights before the broader launch.
Kirill Volgin, CEO of Pixelverse, emphasized the organic growth stemming from their established user base on Telegram:
“We are leveraging our massive user base on Telegram to expand organically beyond the platform. Many Telegram mini-game users have discovered crypto through these mini apps in recent months, and now we’re ready to offer them a richer, more complex gaming experience outside the mobile ecosystem.”
PIXFI Token and Future Plans
In July, Pixelverse introduced its PIXFI token, launching it initially on the Ethereum blockchain. The company has plans to bring the token to TON as well. Alongside the creation of Pixelchain, a dedicated layer-2 scaling network that will help support the growing ecosystem.
While the PIXFI token isn’t yet available on TON. Pixelverse has already distributed hundreds of thousands of NFT collectibles via PixelTap on the chain. The expanded use of PIXFI tokens and NFTs within the new MMORPG is expected to be a key feature that enhances player engagement and offers additional opportunities for in-game transactions.
Pixelverse’s launch of a browser-based MMORPG beta is an exciting leap for the company, as it ventures beyond Telegram and delivers a more immersive gaming experience. With deep blockchain integration and the ability to build on its existing success with NFT collectibles. Pixelverse is poised to offer a compelling new chapter for its player base. As the game gears up for its public release later this year, early supporters are getting a first glimpse into the future of the Pixelverse gaming ecosystem.
