Telegram-based clicker game Notcoin (NOT) has emerged as the top gainer among the top 100 crypto tokens, marking a notable 10% increase over the past 24 hours. This achievement coincides with The Open Network (TON), the blockchain powering Notcoin, equalling Ethereum in terms of daily active wallets—a significant milestone in the crypto space.
Notcoin’s impressive player base, which has grown to 35 million, reached a daily peak of five million users in March. However, it was not until May 17 that TON surpassed Ethereum’s number of daily active wallets for the first time. The two networks have been closely competitive since then, with TON recently maintaining a lead for nine consecutive days, as reported by Artemis Terminal.
As of now, TON is slightly trailing Ethereum, with only a 4,000 address difference in daily active wallets. Despite this narrow gap, TON has registered a 5% rise in the last 24 hours and an overall increase of 5.5% over the past week.
2024 has been a fruitful year for TON, spurred by Notcoin’s success. Following this trend, numerous new Telegram-based games have been introduced, with plans to launch their own tokens. Among these, Hamster Kombat has notably reached 100 million players, becoming the largest Telegram channel to date. A token launch is planned for July, allowing players to convert in-game points into crypto tokens.
Additionally, other games like Tapswap and Yescoin are preparing to launch their tokens on TON. Tapswap, boasting 50 million players, previously integrated with Solana wallets but has shifted focus to TON. Yescoin, with 18 million users, is also transitioning to TON, with over 6 million users already linking their wallets.
This influx of new games and subsequent token launches has propelled TON to become the 10th largest crypto token by market capitalization, overtaking Cardano. This dynamic shift highlights the growing influence and potential of Telegram-based gaming platforms in the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem.
