Hawk Tuah Meme Coin Drama Resurfaces

After months of silence following her disastrous Solana meme coin launch, Hailey Welch, better known as the “Hawk Tuah” girl, has resurfaced—but things are just as chaotic as before.

Welch appeared in a new episode of her “Talk Tuah” podcast on Thursday, marking her first major public appearance since the HAWK token debacle in early December. However, the episode was mysteriously deleted soon after it went live, adding another layer of confusion to an already messy saga.

But the internet is fast—leaks of the episode are now circulating on social media, ensuring that Welch’s unexpected return remains under the spotlight.

Welch, FaZe Banks, and the Leaked Podcast

The scrubbed episode featured Welch speaking with FaZe Clan co-founder Richard “FaZe Banks” Bengtson, DeGods creator Frank (Rohun Vora), and crypto content creator Threadguy.

Welch recounted how she got involved in launching a meme coin, only to realize the deployer controlled 80% of the supply, causing its price to immediately crash to near-zero. She admitted she’s still “a little shook up” over the ordeal.

In the podcast, Welch suggested she wasn’t fully aware of what she was getting into, a claim her guests seemed to agree with. Meanwhile, Welch is cooperating with lawyers in a lawsuit against her former business partners, whom she appears to hold responsible for the failed project.

FaZe Banks Reacts: “What a Mess”

Following the leak, FaZe Banks took to X (formerly Twitter) to distance himself from the situation, claiming he had agreed to the interview under strict conditions.

Banks alleged that Welch’s team had promised the episode wouldn’t be released without approval, but after hearing rumors about the podcast being published, he and his team pulled the plug.

Yet, the episode still surfaced online—and the price of the HAWK token briefly pumped before cooling down.

“Now today, the episode ‘randomly’ gets leaked. The price of HAWK is pumping and they completely fumbled the bag, yet again,” Banks wrote. “What a fucking mess. Poor girl, it’s a wonder how she found herself in this position in the first place.”

Hawk Tuah Token Surges, Then Falls

As soon as news of the podcast leaked, the HAWK token more than doubled in price, fueled by speculation. However, the hype faded quickly, and HAWK is now up just 9% on the day, currently trading at $0.00071, according to CoinMarketCap.

With Welch back in the public eye, the Hawk Tuah meme coin scandal may not be over just yet. But whether Welch and her team can salvage their crypto reputation remains an open question.
