OKX and Immutable Ignite GameFi Revolution

Cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Ethereum gaming platform Immutable have unveiled a strategic alliance aimed at launching a dedicated GameFi launchpad on OKX’s NFT marketplace. This collaboration is set to catalyze the integration of gaming assets and decentralized finance (DeFi), marking a pivotal moment for the burgeoning GameFi sector.

The partnership entails not just the creation of a launchpad designed to debut assets for games developed on the Immutable zkEVM network, but also encompasses extensive integrative efforts. OKX will bolster support for Immutable zkEVM through its marketplace and wallet services.

In a reciprocal move, Immutable is set to incorporate the OKX wallet into its Immutable Passport platform — a streamlined solution for wallet management and crypto gaming sign-ins — alongside integrating OKX’s NFT Marketplace into its own orderbook and marketplace framework.

Robbie Ferguson, co-founder and President of Immutable emphasized the synergy between the two entities, highlighting the fusion of OKX’s robust ecosystem and state-of-the-art technology with Immutable’s Web3 gaming prowess. This alliance promises to unlock novel gaming experiences for millions of players across the globe, fostering a new era of digital proprietorship for gamers.

The GameFi launchpad, slated for launch in the near future, heralds the arrival of highly anticipated Immutable zkEVM titles such as Guild of Guardians, MetalCore, and Shardbound.

With the global release of Guild of Guardians set for May 15 and MetalCore aiming for an open beta in May, the gaming community is on the cusp of experiencing these revolutionary titles. Shardbound, while yet to announce a release date, has already sparked interest with an alpha playtest involving 2,000 participants.

OKX’s Chief Innovation Officer, Jason Lau, voiced the company’s ambition to streamline access to next-generation games and their respective items through OKX’s wallet and marketplace, envisaging a future where Web3 gaming transcends into mainstream adoption.
