Ubisoft Launches NFT Collection for New Game

Ubisoft, a leader in the gaming industry, is gearing up to release a new 10,000 piece NFT collection on the Ethereum scaling network, Arbitrum. This launch, in partnership with the Magic Eden marketplace, will introduce NFTs that grant holders early access to the anticipated game. Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E.

Game Inspired by Netflix Series

The upcoming top-down shooter game draws inspiration from the Netflix series “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.” Which is based on Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The game, set in a fascist dystopian world, will feature iconic characters from popular Ubisoft franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and Beyond Good & Evil.

Niji Warrior ID NFTs and Game Features

The Niji Warrior ID NFTs minted on Arbitrum will not only provide early access but will also allow holders to participate in the game’s governance model. These NFTs are designed to evolve as a player’s score increases. Unlocking new perks and enhancing their influence within the game’s governance. Additionally, holders will have the opportunity to earn rewards and access user-generated content. Although specific details on these features are still forthcoming.

Web3 Integration and Player Empowerment

This initiative also marks the introduction of Arbitrum support on Magic Eden. Which has previously supported projects on networks like Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, and Base.

Community Involvement and Release Preparations

The game was first announced in August as a “transmedia experience” with significant community involvement in its narrative development through Web3 governance features. After a closed beta test in late August. The NFT collection is set to mint soon, paving the way for the game’s public release. The exact release date remains unconfirmed. But it is expected soon after the NFT minting.

Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. is Ubisoft’s second major blockchain-based game following Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. Ubisoft has been actively engaging with blockchain technology. Having previously launched in-game NFTs for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint on the Tezos network.
